Pressure Regulator Installation & Replacement in the South Bay
Banging pipes, exploding supply lines, or a gauge that reads far above 80 psi — request a PRV estimate.
Schulze Plumbing Inc. provides Pressure Regulator Installation & Replacement in the South Bay / Los Angeles County area. See cities we serve or call 310-487-2975.

A pressure-reducing valve (PRV or regulator) sits after the meter and protects fixtures from high street pressure. When it fails open, supply hoses burst, toilets keep running, and water heaters see stress they were not designed for. When it fails closed or clogs, the house feels weak.
Many South Bay streets run high enough that a PRV is not optional. Replacing one is usually at the same location; adding one on a house that never had it is a short piping change plus a gauge so you can verify the setting later.
Common symptoms
- Pressure over about 80 psi at a hose bib gauge
- Repeated washing-machine or ice-maker hose failures
- Water hammer when valves close
- A PRV that is leaking at the bell or will not hold a setting
What this service involves
- Measuring incoming vs house pressure when we can
- Replacing or installing the regulator and nearby valves as approved
- Checking whether high pressure already damaged a heater T&P or a fixture

Process
- Share any pressure reading you have and whether leaks started after a PRV failure, plus your ZIP code so we can confirm South Bay coverage.
- We follow up to confirm access, scope, and whether permits or other trades may be involved.
- You receive an estimate for the work you approve. We do not publish prices on this page.
- After you approve, we schedule the job.
FAQ
- Can I adjust the screw myself?
- Some valves are adjustable, but a failed diaphragm will not hold a setting. If it weeps or the house pressure still tracks the street, it is a replacement conversation.
- Will a PRV fix low pressure?
- Only if the valve is stuck or clogged. Low pressure from galvanized pipes or a failing main needs those pages, not a new regulator.
- Do you install expansion tanks too?
- Closed systems with a PRV often need expansion at the water heater. Mention the heater setup so we can include it if required.
